June 21 2006 is the the day that Sergeant First Class Jared C. Monti gave his life as he faced a barrage of gun fire in an attempt to save the life of his brother at arms who was wounded and pined down only 30m meters from a tree line containing over 40 enemy fighters. Sergeant First Class Monti made three attempts to reach his downed soldier, on the third attempt he was hit by a rocket propelled grenade which ended his life. Sargent First Class Jared C.
